Across Europe, millions of women of African descent live, work, vote, and contribute to society. Yet in the institutions that shape their lives, they remain almost entirely absent.
The Invisible Seat is the inaugural research report by GLL. It exposes a reality too often ignored: the political invisibility of African diaspora women in Europe. Mapping who holds power, documenting the scale of exclusion, and revealing the structural, institutional, and cultural barriers at play, the report confronts a fundamental question: who truly gets a seat at the table?
This is not a story of absence by chance.
It is the result of a system.
And systems can be changed.
